Médecins Sans Frontières, association médicale humanitaire internationale créée en 1971, apporte une assistance médicale à des populations dont la vie est menacée : principalement en cas de conflits armés, mais aussi d'épidémies, de pandémies, de catastrophes naturelles ou encore d'exclusion des soins.
As a part of MSF OCP Emergency pool, the Emergency Logistics Coordinator defines and leads the implementation of logistics/technical activities to support emergency and/or regular cells in the management of emergencies or other types of humanitarian response operations.
Main Responsibilities:
- Participates actively in the definition, the planning and the budgeting of operational plans/strategies. Advises the HoM/Emergency Coordinators. Translates the logistical/technical needs into objectives, priorities and resources needed for the mission.
- Monitors the implementation of logistics/technical activities in the mission (construction and rehabilitation, stock and supply of medical and non-medical material, transportation, communication, water and sanitation, vehicles and engines, equipment/installation and infrastructures, etc.) ensuring compliance of applicable MSF standards, protocols and procedures.
- Ensures the availability and the proper use/maintenance of required material and equipment (IT, communication etc.) that are necessary for the progress of operations.
- Ensures the installation and the maintenance of the functional office space(s), the lodging facilities and the required equipment for adequate living/working conditions.
- Ensures the proper application of HR policies and associated processes (recruitment, training, briefing/debriefing, evaluation, potential, detection, staff’s development and internal communication). Responsible for the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activities he/she is accountable for.
- Monitors the technical aspects of the risk reduction policy, transport, communication, protection, identification and preparation of the technical aspects of the mission security policy and guidelines, evacuation plan and contingency plan. Reports any security problem to the HoM. For this purpose, the Logistics Coordinator will have to create an appropriate environment to facilitate the exchange of information on security situation and will be the security back up in the absence of the HoM.
- Ensures internal and external coordination of logistics/technical issues in the mission and represents MSF in meetings with Authorities and other NGOs for technical/logistics related issues.
Profile Requirements
Experience and expertise:
Extensive MSF Logistic Coordinator or Deputy Coordinator experience in regular and/or emergency missions
18 months minimum of MSF experience, preferably in emergencies and/or insecure contexts. Alternatively, similar experiences in other organizations could be considered
Experience in coordinating high volume of logistics activities
Mastering the OCP MSF logistics & assessment tools
Good knowledge in the main logistical families (WH&S, Vector Control, Cold Chain, Telecommunications, Relief distributions, Shelter, Air ops, Supply, etc.)
Coordination & technical courses are a plus.
Competencies:
Demonstrated communication, reporting and organizational skills
Flexibility and ability to work under pressure
Ability to train, mobilize, and manage both international and national staff
Quality and Results orientation
Analytical skill and strategic vision.
Languages : Very good communication, writing and reporting skills. level C1 in one language compulsory (English or French) and B2 in the other (French or English)
Status and conditions
Location: Field-based position with visits to HQ in Paris. Position based in the field during interventions or at home during stand-by periods.
Contract type: Fixed-term and full-time contract (12 months, 100%) with possible extension.
Compensation & benefits:
Gross monthly salary ranging from €2825 to €3358, depending on your experience and country of residence.
Specific Emergency package including completion bonus and extra paid leaves.
Social Benefits: Health insurance and living costs in the countries of intervention and in HQ, paid according to internal regulations.
Ideal starting date: between now and early March 2026
