Mobile Implementation Officer (MIO) - Microbiologist and Implementer (W/M)

Context
Today, Antibiogo is used in 6 different countries: Mali, Yemen, Jordan, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo and Gaza. Antibiogo is also used in public laboratories in Mali, Comoros, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso and Liberia.
The objective for 2025 is to continue its implementation broader than MSF, in all laboratories in Low- and Middle-Income Countries that are lacking microbiologists. Our priority for 2025 is to make Antibiogo available in West African countries and then to finish 2025 with East African countries.
The Antibiogo Implementer will support the deployment of Antibiogo in Western and East Africa.
She/he is in charge of the implementation of Antibiogo in LMIC public laboratories in collaboration with The MSF Foundation and MSF operation department and will travel to the identified countries to implement Antibiogo and support the implementation strategy development and associated tools.
The Antibiogo Microbiologist, in collaboration with the clinical team, will also give microbiological support to the product team in the development of new application features and to the routine users of Antibiogo
Main Responsibilities
Under the hierarchical responsibility of the Implementation and Development Officer and the functional supervision of the Antibiogo Clinical Lead, and in collaboration with the Antibiogo team, your main duties are:
1- Implementation of Antibiogo in public laboratories identified
He/she is in charge of the field implementation schedule/Training after discussion with laboratories supervisors or managers.
Create or adjust the training tools and content for each implementation.
Provides the full Antibiogo training from the definition of Antibiogo to its performances and its use by each lab technician in each laboratory.
Collaborate with laboratory supervisors to identify the best strategy to integrate Antibiogo in the laboratory flow.
Provides technical training as corrective action if any quality problems impacting AST quality and readings are identified and prepare recommendations for quality improvement of AST practices in the laboratory.
Develop a follow up strategy in collaboration with Antibiogo implementation team and the laboratory supervisors.
Organize remote implementation and training in countries where movement is not possible.
2- Country follow up post implementation.
Ensure close follow up of Antibiogo during the first months of use.
Collect users’ feedback.
Collect monthly Antibiogo data use
3- Ensure support for routine users after implementation.
Answer to the questions or feedback of users when needed.
Support the IDO in the coordination of communication with all users when needed.
Support data collection of post market surveillance data for each site in collaboration with the regulatory focal point and clinical lead.
4- Support clinical team in providing microbiological support to the product team
Be the focal point on specific feature or topic, eg: panel management, internal QC
Advise the Antibiogo product manager on microbiological aspects. If needed
Ensure that users feedback is taken in consideration when developments are needed
Collaborate with the Clinical Lead and the product team to prepare training documents for project training materials.
Collaborate with the Clinical Lead to analyze user feedback on the application and provide feedback to the product team.
5- Support clinical team in yearly update of EUCAST and CLSI
Ensure that all new recommendations are included in the test sets
Perform analytical testing and investigate failing cases.
Liaise with i2a to update rules and KB
Perform quality control.
Support the release of each version following the timeline.
Profile required
Education
Doctorate or Master’s degree (or similar) in Clinical Microbiology
or Diploma in Laboratory sciences with 10 years experience in laboratory supervision is essential.
Experience
Laboratory supervision and management of global health projects are essential.
Field experience with MSF or other NGO in low- middle-income countries is essential.
Experience in clinical bacteriology is essential.
Project management experience and advocacy experience is desirable
Successful experience working in multidisciplinary teams and experienced in communicating with partners is desirable

Specificities of the position:
Status: Full-time 5 months fixed term contract. Field-based position with occasional travel to MSF Missions’ coordination and/or MSF HQ ( 60% on the field / 40% at HQ).
Salary conditions: Salary level 10 according to MSF field grid and relevant experience / seniority if equivalent position in an NGO.
